About
My name is Eva. I just turned thirteen, which means I’ve been a full-time kid for seven years! I love traveling with my family, hitting new states, seeing new places and animals, and checking the items off of my bucket list.
2024 has been a great year! This summer my mom got a work camping job as a cashier at Grant Village in Yellowstone National Park, so, on her days off, we got to go see the park! Yellowstone is a beautiful place, and we had a blast!
I just started eighth grade. I’m enjoying it…not the math, of course…but, my entire school day only takes me a few hours every morning- unless, of course, we go somewhere (the flexibility of homeschooling is amazing) to enjoy a different kind of education.
I love visiting new places through books, too! Reading is really fun…even if you’re carsick…and it’s always fun to pick up new books along the way. Of course, everyone says my bookshelf will be the death of our camper and they’re probably right, but books are important to us, and, so far I’ve managed to keep books, bookshelf, and camper out of danger. Mostly.
My dad helped me set up this website with the idea that I could write about adventures, journeys, and thoughts as we travel…who knows, it may even turn into a way for a traveling teenager to make money! I’m really enjoying just writing random things down very unprofessionally. I think it’ll be fun to look back at, too, and see what I thought about everything we saw and did. I like to talk and write and tell stories, so this should be just the thing for all the journeys and memories. I have a very short-term memory anyway, so that’s another blessing with this website. Even if my communication and writing skills aren’t that great. We go a lot of places and it’ll be really good to have somewhere to tell stories, write down adventures, jog down thoughts, and add pictures. (My photography skills aren’t so great, either, but that’s okay.)
I have a plan for three main categories to organize my posts- my “Travel Log”, which is like an adventure journal… “Places”, a very basic name for a casual rating of the campgrounds, areas, and National and Historic sites we visit…and then, just plain “Friends”. Friends is about anything from making new friends, keeping in touch with people while traveling even if you don’t have an iPhone or a laptop, or just getting along with the people with you in the RV. Because nothing is impossible for full-timers! Except a lot of things. (So far, we can’t get to Alaska.) But I have a lot of extra advantages that aren’t there for everyone, so I find or make ways to fix the things and put my problem-solving to good use.
I’m hoping that, maybe, some of my ideas can work for others, and maybe help somebody else and make their full-time or vacation experience the best it can be! (:
